Worth Fixing Up

Is this thing worth fixing up and getting running? It came from a buddy's hoard. He claims it was working when he got it.

There's some pretty obvious and thick silicone repairs and the pump is missing something.

I mean, up to you. I’d probably try to source any replacement parts first. If you can’t find them, this foreshadows what you may face in the future if it breaks down.

That looks like a relic, don’t know if I’ve ever heard of ‘Marine Solutions’ skimmers.

How much time, money, energy, and aggravation to fix this thing? How many times are you going to have to test this skimmer after your repairs to see if it operates properly? Even after your repairs, does the skimmer have optimized performance?

For all these reasons, I would recommend buying a used skimmer in great condition at a great price.
