My favorite brand is either TEK or ATI, I have not seen a Nova Pro in person, so I really can't say for sure.

No, I do not run Zeo.

Actinics are on at about 9:45 am, the other 4 come on at about 11am. Mains go off at 9, the actinics off at 9:30. I am thinking about dropping it a bit though, maybe having the mains come on at noon instead.

No problem. I am a big fan of T5, they work very well, and give you the most options for tank color that I can think of.

Yes, I agree. My Chiller was 650W when it was on! That is CRAZY watt draw... MORE then the lighting even.

so 6 bulbs should do it what about this current nove pro fixure?
i have a nova extreme pro on my 75 gallon reef.. its the 6 bulb 48 inch fixture and i love it.... it has 2 fans and keeps the fixture cool... and doesnt really affect my water temp at all.... i am using the hanging kit with mine its nice also....

oh ya btw the reason i didnt go with the tek is because it has no fans........ i dont like that idea.. i understand that if theres no fans the bulbs are going to get hot and there far lowering the par of the bulbs..

I've had MH and they were power hungry. The light they gave off was great, but the heat and energy bill didn't make it worthwhile for me. I love my T5's, and the color is just as good. Plus, my electric bill went down :)

I like T-5 but the only thing I keep MH around for is the glitter lines just can't get that with fluorescent bulbs....But T-5s are the chit for sure, the switch will definitely save you some cash....

Wait hit the wrong poll option... dang... definitely switch to t5's man unless you love the shimmer then why not go LED

After seeing corals that are in my tank with MH's that were in T5 tanks, I would never switch to T5. IMO Colors are better and growth under MH

I use 2 x Geissmann Actinic + (T5's) and 2 x250W 20k Radiums in my DT and
2 x Geissmann Actinic + (T5's) and 1 x 400W 14k Reflux in my Frag tank.

I would definately change to T5. You will add less heat to the tank, save on energy usage and likely have less evaporation which makes your A/C work less to get rid of it.

I think a combo of both is a good way to go....personally i love my MH but i miss that actinic and thats where T5 could be used
