hello, i currently have a 40 gallon tank with 2 clowns, a cardinal, 2 blue chromis and a male tricolor fairy wrasse. i recently noticed some red flatworms that came in on some chaeto and i’ve been siphoning them out whenever i notice them. i haven’t seen any in the display yet... but i want to make sure they stay out. i want to get a 6 line wrasse to pick out any he might come across in the display before the problem gets out of hand. my question is: will the six line constantly try to fight my fairy wrasse? would another type of wrasse be less aggressive while also reef safe but also effective in pest control?

In my experince the six line wrass was peaceful. It is the fairy wrass you need to worry about. My fairy wrass was so aggressive I had to take it oir of the system.
So question is: how is your fairy wrass with the current inhabitants?

pink streaked wrasse would be better. sixline will probably kill the fairy wrasse sooner or later

flatworms aren't apparently all that 'bad' of a thing, in moderation of course. i don't seem to have any, but i've always had halichoeres wrasses, an orchid dottyback, and a springers damsel. all of which eat flatworms to some extent

Sixlines often become problematic, especially toward other wrasses as they mature.

Consider a pink streak or melanurus instead.
