I got a 8"-9" volitan lion hes been there for 4-5 days and everytime i check on them the 6.5" foxface is camouflaged hiding in the top corner and I see it chasing it a little bit(the lion chasing the one spot foxface) half the time the lion just perches, is a 125 FOWLR gallon tank with:

4" sailfin tang/blue hippo
3.5" picasso triggerfish
3.5" niger triggerfish

I thought the two were compatible? Parameters are in the safe range.

The foxface may have invaded his territory or spiked him. They should calm down, a lion will usually only chase what they eat, or as a defense. I had a very sneaky foxface, that spiked a few of his tankmates, it is very likely the foxface started it. If he leaves the lion alone, the lion will likely let it go and stop chasing him.

Very interesting, I think a lionfish will never chase a fish unless he thinks its food

Lions are not aggressive in the sense, they do not bully fish or murder for sport. Even a full grown volitan would not attempt to eat a 6.5" fox or really any fish that size except possible a very slender wrasse type fish. Lions only attack as defense, If you are keeping small fish, slender body or less than 1/2 the size of the lion, then there's a risk the lion will eat them. or try.
