A few days ago (3/2/2018) I lost power in the recent Nor'easter. I had a battery backup system in place, and thankfully it functioned fairly well. However, I had upgraded my aquarium since I had originally planned out the battery backup and the system did not last nearly as long as I wanted it to. The battery took frequent recharges from my car to keep going. I've since re-evaluated my system and in the process, decided to write a post about general-purpose battery backup designed for reefs...

Methodology: The method I use for fragging the majority of hard corals is primarily the same with the cutting tooling being an Inland band saw. Cooling liquid used is fresh mixed saltwater with enough iodine to color it a light amber. This helps to disinfect cuts as they’re made which has shown to greatly increase frag survival. All corals are stored during cutting in a small bucket holding water taken directly from their home aquarium. This water is used both to keep them wet as well as...

Hey guys! I decided to post up my diy led mount for anyone who is looking for a sleek idea and or just a way to hang their lights. I will definitely say I’m not the original person who came up with this idea. I see many who use tv mounts however I haven’t seen anyone do it like this. Either way I would like to thank everyone who has used similar ideas as it helped inspire me to do this. What you will need: - tv wall mount. (I bought this model as it extends I believe up to 27 inches) it’s...
