“Stem” on Rhodactis?

I bought a couple of frags yesterday and noticed something odd about the Rhodactis when I got home. It looks like it has a stem growing out of the bottom of it! Anyone ever heard of this before? Its a bit hard to see in the picture but it’s between both shrooms
