I have a 80 gal tank. Just did a 12 gal water change. Now I have 8 alk, 450 cal, 0 phos, and barely any nitrate. I removed some sand during water change. Should I be concerned with low phos and nitrate?

I wouldn't be to concerned unless you have acropora. I don't suggest 0 phosphate, but I wouldn't freak out. Just start feeding more.

As a person going through it, be on the lookout for dinos. Apparently they thrive in low nutrient systems. +1 on the feeding more.

Thanks, I'll be feeding more, it's interesting because I think I feed a lot.

I'll say this with the caveat that you should check my advice with people who successfully keep reef tanks but I am on my second or third time now of dosing NO3 and PO4 via Trisodium Phosphate and Sodium Nitrate. I cannot get my levels up to save my life no matter how much feeding I do. When I dose these, I can get these up and maintain the levels I want consistently so long as you keep dosing and testing.
