Hi all,

I'm trying to set up an Aqueon 65-gallon tank, however, there was a plastic board set the right top of the cabinet. And I end up having only about 20'' height space in my cabinet, which makes most of the protein skimmers unable to fit.
Do you guy think it would be a good idea to move/cut the board? Does it cause an effect to the over support for the tank? Any advice would be appeiate it! I was also thinking about drilling a big hole on that board just for the seek of skimmers space.
Thanks!

I’m planing to use this thing to cut a hole for my protein skimmer cup. Do you guys think this kind of big hole would affect the integrity of the stand ? Thanks!

i'd have to see how the "shelf" is attached. If it's just pinned into the sides, then i would think sure. but if it's an integral part, then i'd second guess it.

Thank you so much for replying my thread! @link81
But I’m not sure how this plate is attached to the main stand :(

it almost looks like it will lift right out.....
Lol I thought so as well, but this tank is going to be heavily stocked, so I don’t wanna mess with the integrity. Though I could really use some more pace for my sump set up :(
