as mentioned, starting off slow and steady. softie / LPS.

Used red Sea coral pro for a couple of years been using IO for a long, long time now.

@ESABOE , where have you been? Are you sick of our nonsense?
Hi All!
Been busy with tank. Had an outbreak of GHA and diatoms that was overtaking some of the corals. Physically cleaning tank daily and also gluing down new corals is exhausting for me. Even though I have my LFS come bi-weekly to do water changes, I had to maintain myself because of outbreak. A 72 gal DT is huge for me, I’m going up and down the footstool constantly and to reach the sand my arm is all the way to the arm pit - lol. I drop corals so much, it’s amazing some are still alive.

Good news is Dylan(owner of LFS) came out last weekend and we replenished my CUC and I needed to increase my Ocean Magik dosing; already seeing a difference.

Been lurking reading threads, but love all the nonsense!

Sorry 00W, didn’t mean to sidetrack your thread; I will update in my build thread.

No worries you're welcome here any/all the time.

Sorry about the outbreak of algae but glad you are well. Pop in here from time to time, we missed you!

Fritz RPM

All parameters are good.
Everything is happy.

Lots of hair algae on the sand and starting to grow on rocks. What should I do?
Besides manual removal and your cuc you can dose 2 ml of hydrogen peroxide per gallon directly into your tank. Make sure it is 3%. Seemed to make a difference for me. Remember gha is just a normal stage of your tank maturing.

Are there any snails that eat it?
The best thing I’ve experienced is a tuxedo urchin followed by turbo snails but you need to crop the algae and keep it short for them to eat it.

Did everyone have a good day today? :)
Me too, but will probably swap to io just for cost with the new tank.
I like it but it is the only salt my LFS carries. My lfs is awesome and I don’t want them going anywhere so I try to buy everything I can from them even if I can get it little cheaper somewhere else.

@fishguy242 how much evap do you think the new 93g will have? I was hoping for 1g per day. Doable?
prob a lil more than that ,say gal and a half unless you are using glass tops, assuming you are not ?

That's exactly why I'm using Fritz. I've been on the fence about buying elsewhere for that reason.

I will try that. Let me see if I have any in my house.
