Never thought of it, the red fish was released and the flounder were filet beer battered and were delicious!Hey I bet you could acclimate them to the proper salinity.
A friend of mine had one for years and it was chill, this was about 15 years ago. He got it to eat bubble algae which it did if I recall. I’m never reading negative posts about the sailfin but I don’t have personal experience. They have had this beauty at my LFS for over a week now. So tell me all you know about sailfin tangs please.![]()
Red Sea Sailfin supposedly eat bubble algae. They have had this beauty at my LFS for over a week now. So tell me all you know about sailfin tangs please.![]()
I don't have bubble but I do have some hair algea and I read they eat it as well.Red Sea Sailfin supposedly eat bubble algae.
If you can get a good picture and post it on Frank's thread we can get you an ID on whether it's a Red Sea or not.I don't have bubble but I do have some hair algea and I read they eat it as well.
Good fish, relatively hearty, pretty good personality. Pretty chill until older and can get quite enormous. They have had this beauty at my LFS for over a week now. So tell me all you know about sailfin tangs please.![]()
From what I can tell that one looks like a regular sailfin IMO.I don't have bubble but I do have some hair algea and I read they eat it as well.
I will clean the sponges off with a tooth brush.Oh yes sponges and any little worms or even brittle starfish will irritate them enough to cause slight recession over time.
A lot of people use a soft toothbrush to remove the easier sponges.
Sometimes some serious picking is required.
It's a pain to keep them clean for sure.
You can do the dip for less time just keep the water airatted.
Even 30 minutes would allow them to ingest it.
Kev, you're upgrading your masterpiece??When I upgrade
Well I’m not able to add anything but instead spend my time fragging but here’s the kicker since I haven’t been adding anything anything I have all this money now and it’s getting on my nerves! Ya I was saving up for a waterbox 150.4 with the plan on purchasing it on Black Friday of this year. Then my daughter got engaged after my wife told me our financial responsibility and helped me off the floor My savings and the $2.86 in my tank upgrade gofundme account became the wedding fund. Now shooting for Black Friday of 2025. But a must would be an AWC because these old legs and back can’t carry so many buckets of water up from the basement. We’ll see, I really don’t see the cube coming down, probably two tanks because something isn’t right with my headKev, you're upgrading your masterpiece??![]()
