Before I put in my new pump I adjusted a few things on the tank.
Y'all on here know what you are doing but in case someone happens to read through this for fish related material here I go.
I pretty much got a D in high school chemistry but I understand most of reefing and the nitrogen cycle.
I've tried lots of things to increase alk. I know I only need it to go up a tad but this time of the year my PH is always low. No windows open, no co2 scrubber and everyone inside all the time.

I don't want to use baking soda cuz it'll lower ph for a bit too although it works. I've tried 2 part, just alk and other bottles of things but I'm not quite bright enough and nothing really works for me.
That's looking low to me.
Lotta people don't test ph but during the winter I'll test every other week.
I think it's important to be honest with what we do. I can't learn from someone who just says here's my tank period. Well, how'd it get that way yo?
What do you do?
Well, I am going back to 1988 and I'm going to add some of this
I've had so many people say this stuff is placebo, hogwash and various other things we can't say on this family forum but for me, it works.
Let's find out.
