So I have this weird question to ask you.
I have red cyno growing on the back glass only where the return pumps water down into the tank.
Is that possible, am I imagining it and why?

Fritz RPZm magnesium, I add it to the fresh mix of salt water when I do a water change.

Are you using Fritz salt?

Yes, it is the only salt my LFS carries and I try to purchase as much as I can from them.

Does anyone use gyres that alternate? Or have you in the past?

yes two. far right and far left of the 300. also two MP40 on the far left..also a return from the sump on far left and far right.

Do you like the flow pattern?

gyres are on alternating on /off. MP40 one is on random flow and the other is on reef crest. Gyres go off at lights off.. MP40 are pushing water to the right at about 4 inches from top of tank...The gyres are at 45 degrees to their corner pushing water from back of tank to middle of front acylic. Each return from the sump pushes water parallel to their the side of the tank. I am thinking of adding two wave makers putting them in middle of top of tank and push water straight down the back acylic
