Never thought about that. Good point.I shut my gyres down at lights off so the fish have a calm night...
do you have wrasses? I have two have 10 pounds on sand far left corner for them..If you don't have wrasses I would remove sand or some of it to help that nasty dirt sand then left gyres move sand to wher they want to..Once its moves it will stay.. Once you go bare bottom you never go back lol... If your gonna do sticks it will help you increase flow with out sand...Hoping so, but I'll have sand so I will go midway high?

Your the brains of this operation! Not smart at all
I will have a wrasse. A leopard I hope. I just prefer sand. I also have other livestock that like sand.having a bare bottom tank lets you push any dirt or food out from under rocks,,,,,,what no wrasse !!!!! I reall like my yellow coris adds so much life to tank...
Exactly what I was thinking.Your the brains of this operation!
Abby NormalYour the brains of this operation!
I didn't even know what that meant and had to look it up that's how smart you are.Abby Normal
Hopefully the brain of this operation is correct and a little flow in that spot takes care of it. Still an odd spot. In my previous tank ( if I’m remembering that long ago) and my current one, it started on the sand. But I think our female Einstein got it right.Yes pics this afternoon.
Just wondering if somehow there are excess nutrients being accumulated in the sump then being used by the algae just in that area.
Always thinking.![]()
Yes I had no idea she was that smart, helpful and awesome.Hopefully the brain of this operation is correct and a little flow in that spot takes care of it. Still an odd spot. Don't be caulk sniffing again...Fixing a window sill that I cracked with a water jug today. I have since swapped to 2.5g containers.

We don't even know I'm right. It was just the first thought I had.Hopefully the brain of this operation is correct and a little flow in that spot takes care of it. Still an odd spot.
