Have you got a tank up and running?
No not yet but I have one I'm going to be getting next month. It's almost 8 hours from me but a friend is meeting me half way with it and a bunch of rock. I am getting what I think is a really good deal on it. It's 125 gallon acrylic with pretty much everything to set it up except for lights and a heater for $700.

That sounds like a good deal.

I'm pretty excited about it. Told my friend today I feel like a kid waiting on Christmas.
What are your plans for the tank?
What fish?
Mixed reef, LPS or SPS dominant?

I'm planning on doing a mixed reef but want to start out with only fish and corals and mushrooms that are considered easy as this will be my first SW tank. I know I want pulsating xenia and zoas. Clowns and then I'm still trying to decide what else I am going to try my best to stock with captive bred only.

That sounds like a great plan.
I started out with some easy corals like a leather, GSP, Duncan, Xenia and now I am working my way into some harder sps corals. So far all good.

Oh I like Duncan's and GSPs as well. I like lots of color and long flowing tenticals I'm still learning all the names.

Make sure you put your gsp on a rock island so you don’t regret it. This is mine that I have had for over 2 years. I love to watch it flow.

If it is growing on the back wall of your tank how do you remove it?

I’ve never had it on a back wall but many people do it and love it. I think the best way to remove it would be to use a razor blade and scrape it but I would shut off all flow so you don’t lose any that will colonize somewhere you don’t want it to be. Maybe someone will chime in that has done it before.

Definitely keep us updated on everything.
We all love new tanks and other people's stuff.
Thank you! I will for sure make a build thread and probably drive everyone nuts with questions and pictures as I go along. I'm off to bed 4am comes extra early on Mondays... good night everyone.
