I almost never measure calcium
Nothing I have really needs any more than a water change can't help but today I'm going to add a half cup of liquid calcium.
I have a lot of coralline using it and it's almost covering the entire bottom which I think is cool.
I might test calcium tomorrow but I think I know where it will be.
Remember.
Never add what you don't/can't test for.

This is the only one I use.
I have used many, many products over the years and this company comes through on their products for me.
I don't like powders or anything to do with math so this is easy
My brain can only take so much.

Last week after a 20 gallon change I was higher.
This week I upped the light hours on the scrubber. I would like to run it 24/7 but my fish room I also sleep in during the week because I leave the house at 3 AM and I don't wake the house up that way.
It really is bright.
I also turned up my skimmer from 3 to 4.

This brings up a question. What are considered stable readings for a saltwater tank? And are the digital test like that more accurate than a liquid test?

Well that's a good question.
Every tank is different.
I never really tested anything until I became a member on R2R. Honestly.
That was 3 years ago.
Before that I used api on occasion.
I bought the Hanna testers and I'll never look back. They're easy, refills are cheap and they're accurate. Plus I'm old blind and dumb and color tests just suck.

As far as ranges of test numbers, my tank runs different than say Kevin's or @Katrina71 because we have different creatures with different needs.
I've learned where my tank is happy but mostly I'M happy with it.
I've seen beautiful tanks with high nitrates, higher phosphates etc.
I've never tested for magnesium.
Don't even know where it might be but @kevgib67 has a need for it so he compensates accordingly.
Does that make sense?
I don't explain very well.
I don't like to chase numbers I like to run experiments.
When starting I never tell people what to shoot for just be consistent and be patient.

I use Salifert for my testing.

Temp 77-79 degrees
PH 8
Salinity 1.026
Nitrate 10-15
Phosphate .05-.1
Mg 1400
Calcium 400-450
Alk 8-11

These seem to do well in my tank with the corals I have.
