When ordering dry Dr.Tims one and only should I go with 8oz that treats 120 gallons? Or should I do bigger since tank is 125 and sump is 50?

I would assume more is better than less but I’ve never used bottled bacteria because I always started with live rock .

I'd do one 8oz and one 4oz

I will be taking it from the cycled tank it's in and covering it in water from the same tank.

I have never used bottled bac but I always get extra everything in case I drop/spill/lose whatever it is I forgot about, if you know what I mean

It definitely won’t hurt, I just never had or saw a need. You can always pick up that super high end gsp down the road.
