Alkalinity is easy with Hanna but you can get a good result with Salifert for cheaper. Calcium I'd not worry about Hanna - Salifert or (dare I say) API are both fine for.Thank you Jennifer for the clarification in Bayer. Saw the name so many times but didn't look at it.
The coral had the overall shape of a hammer but the tip didn't look like as a jelly bean. Some banana torches are quite similar, thank you Tim for the correction.
I am also going through an ugly phase since few days. Hopefully it won't become crazy.
I saw a good deal on Hanna alk and calcium only. Do you think it worth it? I didn't had time to look at them, I think calcium is not easy to use. Do you advise to go ahead? I am using salifert.
I think it's an over use of red or green (usually in the white spectrums of LEDs).Does hair algae grow more from white or blue light?
It wasn't a correction. I was just tossing out my two cents. It's one of those oddball ones that doesn't look like a common torch or a common hammer. Could be either. I know some Aussie torches can get tips like those as well. The coral had the overall shape of a hammer but the tip didn't look like as a jelly bean. Ohhh, do you have some in particular in mind? Please show pic!I've decided I want a large pink leather coral in the new tank.
Agree. I’ve gotten all my Hanna’s during sales. At this point I’m waiting till Black Friday rolls around again cause all the vendors do their biggest sales from then till EoY. That’s how I got my tank and all other main gear for current build.Alkalinity is easy with Hanna but you can get a good result with Salifert for cheaper. I use Hanna for Nitrate and Phosphate ULR. I have th Alkalinity because it was cheap when I got it. Definitely easy and accurate.

You have red sea led? What are you getting as new light?TSA Barbie World! Got it during Live Sale; otherwise could not afford.
This is the WYSIWYG photo, when my new lights get installed next week I’ll take pictures of all my corals finally. By that time, I’ll have figured out better ways to photograph with Apps on my phone.
Oh my gosh I love it!TSA Barbie World! Got it during Live Sale; otherwise could not afford.

Yes, currently Red Sea. Very good lights for price print. Just limited on spectrum, red Ses purposely made lights for overall health/growth success and basically locked down ability to tweak individual colors. All good, but for me, I want the wow factor as this is how I spend my day.You have red sea led? What are you getting as new light?
So you will install a frame?AI Blades. 2 Grow and 1 Glow
Oh and I should mention, I have bought 100% of my corals during Live Sales; I don’t pay retail. I really want certain corals and am willing to spend the day/weekend mouse- clicking to try and get them.Oh my gosh I love it!
The two mounting options I’m considering are:So you will install a frame?
I’m taking down the Red Sea lights and mounts and will do one of the AI mounts. Because my tank is 4 feet from my bed, my line of sight can be bothered by the glare, so I’ll try both options,So you will install a frame?
They can be finicky, stay away from the micro- goni and start with a very established vendor like TSA or Tidal Gardens or WWC. All my Gonis from them are thriving. Of course I can only afford during live sslesWhen I went to buy the 1st coral they had a beautiful flashy pink goni, I asked the price it was way above the budget (wife was here) I begin to read about goni and I am now afraid to care. Maybe if the tank matures well.
