00W's AIO Smorgasbord

Lights just came on and the new gosh is covered in ick. Should I remove just him and treat our do I need to remove my snails and 2 corals and treat the tank? Removing the snails and corals would more than likely be easiest. I have Kordon rid ick on hand and have read its ok for crabs but not coral or snails. In all the years I have been getting fish from my LFS I have never had any issues with any illness in their fish.
Go through the same thing since 2 weeks. There are 2 ways to deal. Transfer all fishes in a quarantine tank, treat the fishes and go fallow for 76 days on the main tank. Or ick management where you get the risk that it transfers to all fishes and may kill them. Later on you know ick is in the tank and can come back anytime and may appear every time you bring a new fish. I am sorry I have to go out, will come back later. Please wait others to come for their experiences.

you need a quarantine tank and leave your DT fallow for at least 96 days, do not add ich medication to your display tank it will likely kill everything in it.

@Randy Holmes-Farley can help with this issue wayyyyyyyy more than anyone of can

you'll need to take a picture of the fish

So sorry to hear this! You have 2 options, the best way and my way. The best way would be to remove the fish and put them in a hospital tank and treat with copper and leave the DT fallow the amount of time has decreased, but I can’t recall at the moment, until the ich goes through all 3 stages of life and dies off without a host. Then there is ich management, which is what this guy who went to public school did. 5 months in my fish were hit with ich. I installed a uv sterilizer, I dosed polyp lab medic ( hydrogen peroxide salts, I know you just cringed, I fed heavily soaking all food in Selcon, Vitachem and garlic Extreme. Managed my water to keep it stable. That was 2 years ago. I have every fish except one clown that was killed by the other clown after a year and a half together, I still can’t figure out why that happened.

I can't catch the fish I have removed my two snails and all of my crabs and two coral and placed them in a 20 gallon long I had empty with tank water. I have not treated the tank yet as I am waiting to hear from you guys. With freshwater u have always just removed anything the meds would harm like shrimp and snails and then treated the tank but not sure if saltwater can be done the same.

sorry to hear ,agree go fallow at least 72 days ,qt and treat fish in sep tank ,when it's all over you use that tank for observation /treatment of any and all new fish.

catch fish in the dark ,2 nets and a pokey stick if needed.

I used to keep Bettas too. Had a mustard gas male in a 2 gallon next to my kitchen sink. He was named "Urban Decay" one afternoon, I apparently startled him and he died instantly. I assumed a cardiac event. I still feel bad about that.

She passed last night :/
Im wondering if this is what happened, did a water change ONE time and shortly after symptoms started. Guess i shouldnt have touched it.

Copper will kill inverts and bind to your rock and you won’t be able to keep inverts in the future. You will need to treat in a hospital tank.

Ok then I will have to do it after church since my husband is insisting that I go even though right now I would rather be here taking care of my fish...

Thank you I didn't think about it binding to the rock.

copper treatment will get absorbed by the rock and the doses will be affected and the rocks will forever leach out copper and hurt every later when you try and introduce them all back into the DT. Hospital tank is your best solution, take your time and you'll get the fish.

Just one she or he is kind of shy when I bring out the camera.

Absolutely a beautiful fish!

I don't see an ad? But I do know they're getting ready to drop another DIY. Drop off tank this time. I'd love one but my wife wouldn't...

25 miles from my house but no pickup! I’ve got a couple of very nice things from him but I hate paying for shipping when it’s that close. Tidal Gardens is further but they bring my order out to me, no shipping fee.

Don’t blame yourself; you cared for her with great love. And at some point you have to maintain the tank or she would die anyway. I doubt it was anything you did
