00W's AIO Smorgasbord

UGHHHH I used soda ash to increase my DKH. Well I overdosed and went from 5.9 to 20!!!!!!!

I don’t have time for a water change for 24 hours. Should I expect fish and invert death?

Rookie mistake
What does everything look like?
I'm assuming tank is milky white?
Things will be mad but they're pretty resilient actually but you're going to need to do a water change asap.
Don't beat yourself up dude!
**** happens bro.
Nows when you earn your reefing stripes fixing your mistake.
In the 90's Albert Theil ran his tanks at 18 with no worries.
You can lower the salinity by taking out some water and adding fresh water back in. That will lower the alk for now.
I take it you're not home?
Hopefully Frank, Tim, Kevin will chime in soon.

I would also be there in a heartbeat if you were down the street. :smiling-face-with-smiling-eyes:
I’d make it a taco smorgasbord tank maintenance evening! Margaritas, tacos, tamales, enchiladas! And I make a mean table-side guacamole. It wouldn’t be as good as Joel’s Mexican food, but it will satisfy the hunger!

Well ideally a quick water change would be in order. I never had to deal with this problem. All I can do is tag the water chemistry big gun and see if he has an alternative way to safely bring it down, @Jay Hemdal ?

I would prepare for the likelihood, yes. SPS is most likely to have problems. Some fish and inverts might, especially if it caused pH fluctuations.

Guys I went to my to my LFS and they had a yellow mimic tang for $40 he was small and looked really healthy but I didn't get him since you guys said I should get tangs last.
I think the Yellow Mimic would be ok for now, especially if it's small.

Sorry - other than water changes, I don’t know of a way to rectify that.

Should be just fine :smiling-face-with-smiling-eyes:
I called them and talked to the owners sister she's the one that put me in contact with the man I got my tank from and she's going to have the owner hold it for me until I get off work. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Bruuuccccceeee!! Saw him in concert at a small venue in Bay Area 30 yrs ago - certain concerts stay with you always- that was one of them.

Kev, have you listened to his Western Stars album? Different for him, but I really enjoyed
