00W's AIO Smorgasbord

And here I am pulling snails and corals out of one tank and moving them to the other...

My wife and daughter are in the kitchen chopping something for dinner. Not sure what it is but sounds like carrots - probably for salad.

Interesting thing happened: I moved over 6 Trochus snails (plus a handful of hermits including my Halloween Hermit and a few Margaritas) and after 15-20 minutes of them being in the 70, they started spawning. Eggs and semen flying all over the tank...
That happens in my tank when I’m playing Barry White, have candles lit around the tank and put a couple eye droppers of wine in the tank.

Yeah... Except now I've got 12 full sized Trochus, 6 mini Trochus, 348 baby/juvenile Trochus, and a whole tank full of Trochus pre-larvae...
You should do a 100 gallon species specific tank of just trochus snails! That would be cool!

Good morning y'all!
Happy Sunday!

Do stop in OC! Double coffee ain't bad :)
Yes! I think we can do better than coffee!

What time should I be there and you will need to pick up another 12 pack of beer?
At around 4 pm it's fine, don't worry about the beer, there's a liquor store here a block from my house ;)

Oohhh, so you only show the good stuff to other people! I see how it is!

Hehe
You follow all my threads silly. I don't often cross post though since I'm on so many "shared" threads.

I used to go there for Yappy Hour! All outdoor space open for people and their dogs with white-gloved waiters serving chicken or beef broth in little bowls for the dogs. All pre-covid of course.

Hey @tbrown , my dad is having problems to raise no3 and po4 in his tank, Po4 0.1 and No3 0.0, what do you dose to increase both, thank you
I don't dose Nitrates but food grade ammonia works in small doses. @Randy Holmes-Farley has some DIY nitrate recipes. I'll try to find one later?

For phosphates, if he's at 0.1 and not 0.01 I'd say he should leave it there. I use Loudwolf phosphates. I'll get the type later as well.

0.1 po4 Isn't it very low?

Yep! I’d just get a hotdog and a beer and enjoy the view!

But we have oodles of choices to go sit and laugh with a view! See if Joel can sneak away from wedding activities

0.1 isn't low. Some reefers think the "ideal" range is 0.03-0.06ppm. Perhaps that is for SPS dominant reefs. I find anywhere between 0.03 ppm and 0.15ppm to work OK in my mixed reef. Lately it's been hovering around 0.06ppm, but I check infrequently.

0.01 is low. With testing error, you might have bottomed out, which is open door for dinos. Try to keep it in a detectable range if possible!

0.01 is low, 0.10 is a good level. I personally shoot for 0.10 to 0.20. Once I get closer to 0.30+ I start trying to level out or bring it down some. I run my tank at 0.12-0.14 most of the time.

One thing to keep in mind with that 0.10, if he starts dosing nitrates the phosphates could start dropping.

0.03 is the allowable testing error on the Hanna ULR I believe.
