I would say yes because I have heard bristle worms hurt and I'm sure they're are others as well that I don't know about.
Maybe not no. 1 but it's definitely an unspoken rule. Bristle/fire worms sting, oenone fulgidas secrete mucus that stuns its prey (not sure what affect it has on humans, though) and there are many other nasty worms that are potentially harmful to humans. The point I am trying to get across is don't touch anything with bare hands unless you know it is safe. Worms especially lol

It's a good rule to follow - in addition to the bristles (which may or may not be used by some worms to inject venom), some worms are also toxic to touch, as they secrete toxins through their skin and proboscis. Additionally, some worms can also bite and in some cases have venomous fangs.
And for gods sake don’t eat them! Stick with earthworms.
Looks like a tasty worm, kudos to barehanding it. I have pulled out many bristleworm thorns and had to soak my hands in vinegar to disolve them that i just wear gloves now. Wish I could find the pic of the giant bristle worm we found when tearing down the 240g. It was down right scary big, like a snake.What are these? 3 giant worms, reef safe? Should I transfer them?
