Got a break out of algae and decided to buy a Hanna phosphate tester. Is .07 ppm phosphate to high? What’s the optimal range for a mixed reef nano tank. It’s a 7 gallon

Mine runs .5 consistently.

I run around .05-.09 so doesn’t seem too high. Not sure, but the algae may be consuming phosphate too and the readings are showing lower than what phosphate input is, so that could be a culprit still.

Going to siphon my sand and do a good cleaning today. I went on a 5day vacation in the midst of battling this algae . Came back and it was worse then ever. I’ve been manually removing the algae every couple days trying to keep under control. Don’t know if it’s Dino or diatoms. My microscope came in so I will take a look at the algae to try and identify !

Sounds good! Let us know what you find

I’d second this. Mine was running .00 for a while, with GHA still growing. Clearly, it was higher, but being consumed by the algae.

I just purchased a Hanna ULR Phosphate checker and Calcium checker. Test the phos and I got.04 ppm. Is that to low? Sorry to spam on your post OP.

Don’t go by what’s on your sand when it comes to elevated phosphate levels. Go by what’s on your rocks and panels.

+1 that's a fine phosphate level
