So I have a 75g that just started (today) to dose Aquaforest's Component 1+, 2+, and 3+. According to the box it says about 50ml a day per 27 gal. SO that's about 150ml with some quick and dirty math. Doesn't that seem like a lot? I was dosing about 16ml of ESV 2 part each day. I understand it's a bit more diluted but that still seems like a lot. Tank is mainly growing sps frags and lps.

How does everyone have their doser set up? I currently have mine programmed for 37ml a dose every 6 hours for each component, with each component being 1 hour apart.

i.e.:
1+ goes for 37ml at 12pm, 6pm, midnight, and 6am;
2+ goes for 37ml at 1pm, 7pm, 1am, and 7am;
3+ goes for 37ml at 3am, 9am, 3pm, and 9pm

you need to test your alk daily to see alk comsuption. there is a good post by govols, " how to balance your daily dose of componenents 1+2+3+" it's in the aquaforest forum, like page 5

You need to check your Alk consumption per day. Then slowly add components 123 and add them in equal amount. You need to find the amount of component 2 which keeps your Alk stable and dose the other two components in same amount. I would suggest to bring your all 3 major parameters at desired level and start doing the dosing calculation. But always dose equal amount of all 3 components.

Yes that's the challenge. Probably going to take a while to get dialed in. All my parameters are where I want them, but I'm sure that'll change some since I'm switching products

All components need to be inline first, I just started dosing with aquaforest also i have a 80 deep blue tank with a trigger 34 sump , they wanted me to dose 150 to 200 ml of ea supplement, so I stated low at 15 ml ea and its been close to perfect with that low amount, i only need to bring up the magnesium alittle, so dose like they recommend, get levels inline first , then start out low and test everyday until you hit your goal

That's what people keep saying. Lol. All my parameters were in line before I started. But the AF dosage to start with is so high that I questioned it. It is literally 450ml of the stuff going in my tank every day from the 3 bottles. (150 each).

I'm surprised you were able to use just 15ml. Do you have a lot of SPS?

The dosing depends on the amount of consumption. So, a new tank with fewer corals will consume much less compared to the same size tank full of SPS. Getting a good idea about your daily consumption level is the best way to start.

I only have a few sps mostly mixed reef,no doubt sps wouls suck up a massive amount

My all went up from 7.7 to 8, so I dropped it from 150ml to 120ml

I am suspecting you will keep having to drop it , i will check mine again tomorrow, to see where i am at , it will be a week tomorrow of dosing aquaforest,

Alk tested between 8.3 and 8.6 so I'm going to hold steady and see what happens tomorrow.

I had to bump all mine upto 20 ml, i will keep checking every couple days and adjust accordingly ! Goodluck

I have never been able to dose equal amounts using AF. My tank is loaded and uses more calcium than any other component. I just test all three and adjust to my desired levels. I keep a close eye on Alk to keep it consistent

I am guessing we all will have todo the same, no tank uses same amounts of elements, i guess its there way of making you buy the extra elements, but that defeats the purpose of dosing to me, to much work

When I started doing 1+2+3+ for 80gl of water volume I started out with about 120ml daily. Now I am at 40 ml total daily and tweak it from time to time, I usually I run all three the same but again from time to time I might run one higher then the other depending on the consumption.
The key is tune in your alk first then the rest will fall in line. It took me about a month to finally get my numbers in line and again it does not have to be exact by very close. My system has alway consumed more Mg so I also dose a small amount of Mg Plus. I also found that when I switched from dosing 4 times daily to 8 the my numbers were more consistent and easier to adjust.

depending on salt batches you will also have to make adjustment;) FYI there are varenses in every brand from batch to batch;)

Note: I mix my own 1+2+3+ and the self mix is more concentrated than the premix. The self mix is also less over time than the premix;)

So everything was the same again today. Hooray me! Dialed in, it is. I'll do a full test panel tomorrow just to make sure
