Hello is a 1/2 inch overflow box good enough for a 120g tank?

Absolutely not

Overflow kits will have a recommended tank size on them. I’d look for something that can handle at minimum 700 gal/hour. I have an Eschoppes Large on my 120 and I had to actually plug one of the two pass through holes to slow things down.

Also make sure you get 2 or 3 drains for different types of return plumbing.

Nope. I use two 1” on my 40br. And a 3/4” for return.
