1/4" Netting

I'm planning a 70 gallon rimless tank with a floating canopy and want to get some wrasses. Does anyone have experience with the 1/4" netting? How much light (if any) does it block? I'm planning a SPS/acan BB tank. Thanks in advance.

Minimal, if at all. I have it over the to of my acrylic corner. Don't even notice it, even with the aluminum screen frame.

Are you getting the clear mesh? or the typical green netting found at Lowes or HD?

Didn't even think that there might be something other than clear... My reply pertains to the clear mesh.

The netting works great and you wont notice any light being blocked.

I've used the black bird netting from Home Depot and Lowes as well as the clear mesh available through Bulk Reef Supply and others. The nice thing about the "transparent" is that it doesn't show salt creep nearly as fast as the others and the black seems to become a little warmer to the touch (though never problematic). Neither will affect light throughput to the tank. I'd go with the smaller weave (1/8" or so) rather than anything larger, as I've had two mystery wrasses and my neon goby jump through the bigger weaves.

Where did you find 1/8" weave? BRS only has 1/4".
