I'm new to the hobby and got 2 clownfish a little over 2 weeks ago. Bought them from 2 different LFS. Each was in a tank without any other clowns. My snowflake clown has recently started chasing the Davinci clown around my tank. The snowflake also does a shuddering movement toward the Davinci. Should I be concerned with any of this? Is it a mating ritual, or agressive behavior? Also in the tank are a blue damsel, a chromi, a yellow tang, and a black cap basslet. The snowflake doesn't bother any of them. Any word ofwisdom wouldbe greatly appreciated. Thank you!

My two clowns did the same thing. They where bought from the same tank at the same time. They are setting up pecking order and who is going to be mr. and mrs.

Tragically my clowns passed in a cat burglary. My cat Nemo decided there could only be one Nemo. She tried to eat Nemo and Coral, my two clowns.:( (My kids named the cat and the clowns)

Clowns are named accordingly as they are funny fish with interesting ways of doing things. As stated above, they are determining who's going to be who in the relationship. Usually a quicker process if one is larger than the other. That would be the female.
