Lol it kinda got put on the back burner this weekend. I do car audio on the side and I spent all friday and sat building a box for a $4000 install I am doing next weekend.

I have been changing the water. I still need a heater. The lights seem ok (no fires yet). I still need to get some blue led's to add to the setup.

I have noticed something With the lid it has there is really no water loss it seems to gather up top and run back into the tank.

As soon as I aquire a heater I will hopefully get some critters in there
 
was in Nashville today stopped by the aquatic critter. grabbed a little heater So now I can move foward with this little project.
 
The selection is awesome! Talk with the employee, short dark haired girl with tats for eyebrows, she's extremely knowledgeable.
 
They had a lot of stuff, but I was there on a monday. i was asking about some zoas that have a nice neon blue and purple color. he said new stock goes on sale on wed and by fri all the cool new stuff is usually gone. I think BSL def has them beat on prices. if I am n town ill deff stop by and do some shopping and might pick something up but I wouldnt make a special trip to go coral shopping. the 6 foot gator next door is cool

I have been SW reefkeeping for 8 years next month and even the most experienced aquarist can tell you that on occasion you will have a fish, crab, especially a small one, disappear. I have had my clowns probably close to 8 years now and my blue spotted watchman goby over 5 years. The littler the "critter" in my experience, the more likely they are to go MIA. In all these years I have only had one jumper. I had a canopy on the tank but a clown decided to take a flying leap. You also can have "bad crabs" like the Gorilla Crab that showed up almost 5 years after I got my liverock, make an appearance. They are known predators of small fish. I did catch him and placed him in my sump so he could do no damage to my livestock.
 
I think some of the smaller fish and creatures tend to have shorter lifespans as well, Vikki. I can't remember how many years I had my cleaner shrimp, but I'm thinking about 2 years or so. I've heard shrimp do not have a long life, but I have been very lucky with the pistol which is over 5 years now I believe (Knock on wood). I'm glad I don't have any bad crabs. That is one party I don't plan on attending. I am down to only scarlet reef crabs now and things seem to be doing well.

yup after reading this thread i went n took account of my livestock and dang if 3 clowns aren't missing; my lil percula who was small ccomparitively, and both blacks.. only thing i can figure is the "kracken" was hungry.. fyi kracken is the nickname the kids gave my big purple tip anemone cuz of his size all blown up

I'm sure BSL won't mind at all that you have a Bermuda Triangle for a tank ;P

Just waiting for BSL to get some more yellow clowns in i called wed and they had one and by the time I got there thurs after work someone got him. I keeping the water changed. I may stop by and grab a snail and a little hermit today for the tank
 
I got him Clif, nan na na boo boo. Lol. He is so tiny. Sorry I got your fish.

Yellow Clown Gobies are for tanks of 1 gallon or larger. In fact it is probably too small a fish for 7 gallons. Maybe too small for 5 gallon.

Just my opinion, I've never kept clown gobies but I could never see a tank as too big for a fish. I know some say in the freshwater side of the hobby betta would get stressed in too big of a tank. But once I moved mine out of the gal it was in into the 29 gal at the time it really showed it's beautiful personality.
