Hey guys. Newbie here. My tank is just finishing its cycle and I’m about to add a CUC and my first fish this weekend.
My nitrates are sky high (probably like 200) but I’m hoping that settles down a bit with a large water change tomorrow. But it got me thinking about the next phase of my tank (120 gal bare bottom).
I purchased two Vertex Rx-U 1.5 reactors. One will be for carbon and one will be for GFO. I have seen dual reactors that run this set up off one pump. Am I ok to run these inline with each other and have carbon in one and GFO in the other off a single pump and one outlet? If so which should be first in line? Or would I have to tee off the pump, run a line to the GFO and another to the carbon with an outlet off each reactor?
Also, I’m planning to keep my lights off for another few months so I won’t be running any GFO until I turn them on, but with my high nitrates from cycling am I ok to start running carbon now?

Actually, I would runt he carbon and GFO in one reactor and save the other one for something else. I also have a 120 gal tank and if I ever need to use GFO I just mix it with the carbon. The tank being still in the infant stage, I would not worry about carbon yet and just try to control the N03 and P04 with water changes. :)
