10-30 gallon tank with zero filteration

Thinking out loud here, my main tank (90 gallons) is in the basement. I work mostly out of my study and was contemplating setting up a 10-30 gallon tank there. Temperature remains a pretty constant 75-77. If I take some live rock from my main tank, some water and new sand ... just do lps and zoa/shrooms with 2-3 small fish would I need any filtration at all? No heater, no filtration just lights and a powerhead for movement. Yay or nay?

using live rocks and powerheads IS filtration, its the main filtration on a reef tank (google berlin filtration method)

I meant no additional mechanical filtration like a skimmer or hob or anything really.

On a small reef aquarium with regular water changes, mech and chem filtration are optional, IME.

Long-term success would depend on your ability to control the input-output

Input.... as in how much food are you using

Vs

Output.... as in how often and how much of a WC are you going to do

using live sand and well established rock from a healthy reef goes a LONG way in making these work (vs large water changes for nutrient control which throws stability unless you've perfected it...plus you just skip alot of ugliness that normally takes place).
