Tied it in with a 60g pond tub full of live rock and installed a light mover to keep cost down.

nice. What are you gonna do with all that frag space? That would hold a LOT of frags.. What kind of frags will it be used for? I assume LPS and softies with having only one light.

Love it!My lfs has 6 2000 gallon versions of a similar setup with one light on a track for each container. It's inside a green house type room so they have the most intense lighting they can

Super cool! Where did you get the troughs?

You may want to have at least two MH on that moving system. 10' is a lot to cover with one moving light.

Check out Wet Thumb Frags' setup (one light for 4'-5'):

I got the trough from Tractor Supply. The trough is narrow. 21 1/2" at frag rack depth of 6".
The light moves the length of the trough in 1 min 52 secs and really the inside dimension 9' 7", plus stopping the light 9" short of center at each end, only makes it about an 8' run. So far the test frags are looking great.

Very well done. Where did you find the light mover? I have only seen them once at that fish place in lancaster pa.

Light movers are old news in hydroponics guys. Check out any hydro store or website and they will have all sorts of parts, kits and info for you.

Nice frag tub! I considered going that route with my tank, but i didnt like how shallow it was. What are you doing for flow?

Three open 3/4" returns in the back with one power head across the front. Crazy turbulence.

Nice build! I'm in the middle of a similar build myself for a garage frag setup. It actually would've been finished weeks ago but we can't get the tub to release from the mold lol. Would've just ordered a trough but I wanted one 18"deep. Here's a couple pics of us ( failing) to pop out the tub. About ready to drop it off the roof.
Subscribed.

Lol. Rest assured, the Pam of composites, a mould release agent was used. In hindsight the mould should've been slightly tapered to allow for an easier vertical release.
