Hi all,

I have a 10 gallon reef aquarium that is 20 x 10 x 12 in size. I am looking for a new LED light for it. I have a cheap light that sits on top of the aquarium which I do not think is bright enough for the orange mushroom corals which I have in the aquarium. I also have live rock and a clown fish in the aquarium as well. I would like to add other soft coral to it but need suggestions on a decent light for them to grow. I was looking at the Aqua Knight light and also a Par38 bulb but do not know if either of those would be good.

Thanks

Are you going to be keeping softies and lps or were you planning on sps eventually?

Since it is just a small tank I would like to put some pulsing Xenia in it as I have an abundance of the Xenia in my 28 gallon aquarium but I am open to suggestions on the coral as well since I really
do not know about this hobby even though I have had these aquariums up and running for around 6 years but still do not have a lot of experience.

Thanks again.

No problem :) what kind of budget are we talking?

Since I am still knew at this hobby, even though I have had my 10 and 28 gallon aquariums up and running for around 6 or 7 years I am open to suggestion on what corals to put in the aquarium. I do have a lot of pulsing Xenia which are doing fine in my 28 gallon aquarium but like I said I am open to suggestions on what to add to the 10 gallon aquarium.

Thanks

My own recommendation would be either a Kessil A160 or a Kessil A360. If you want to do sps and hard corals down the road I'd opt for the A360 right away

This is the exact one I have. You NEED 90 degree optics unless you like a spot light effect. No idea how good it grows as my tank has all new frags in it. But we will see. I have a ORA Green tip orange birdsnest front and center. I use a cheap clamp on light fixture from home depot and it seems to work fine.

I was thinking about grabbing a 72 watt reef fixture on eBay. But this was cheaper and easier.
