What kind of lighting do I need to keep SPS in a 10 gallon nano? I was looking a having a couple of birds nests, mainly. It's a 10 gallon aga tank, right now it's got 2 coralife 50/50 10watt PCs on it.
If anyone could shed some light on this for me[] it'd be great!

2 bulb t-5, a 70w viper, or Par38 LED are your only cheaper options. With the T-5s you'll be able to upgrade as soon as the UVL line drops

i see your sig says florida, now i'm from wi but i think that with a MH (even a 70W) on a 10g your going to have heat problems
i think LED's would be your best bet - but T5 should be good as well

Yeah, I think so too. I'd love to do LEDs, if I could just find something that would work for <$60 ! I thought about DIYing it, but I don't have anything to soulder[sp?] with, for starters...I dropped that idea fast:neutral:

You shouldn't have any heat issues at all with a 10g tank and a 70w halide.

dont bother with a 70 wt halide fixture you will have a real hard time growing acros.also you will further hinder yourself if you want a nice blue look as this will lower your par.atleast a 150 with a good quality bulb will do you right.for heat issues a $9 clip fan will do wonders hook it in with your light timer and viola by bye heat issues.good luck with your nano im looking forward to a small sps thank thread.
