what can i keep with one in a 10 gallon if i had one with just one fish and would a lime green one from live aquaria be ok and would a damsel be tough enough and would a dim light be ok and sand bed and a few rocks for the shrimp and what equipment?

In a 10 gallon tank, the fish will be food in time. I had a damsel live with one for a year before the mantis decided he liked him better for lunch than a friend. Do you know what species of mantis you plan on getting?

on live aquaria its called lime green mantis shrimp i have a picture up in earlier comments but is there any tough fish to go with a 3 or 4 inch mantis shrimp when he is fully grown

You mean the one listed as a Gonodactactylaceus spp? That's a whole genus and you are not guaranteed to get a fish of any certain size. If they absolutely knew the mantis they were selling you were a max of 4", they would include the species name. They say spp so they can send you whatever they have in stock. You could wind up with a 1" or a almost 5". If anyone asks in the future what kind of mantis you're talking in this case is Gonodactactylaceus spp. The common name "Lime Green" referes to a few different genera, even spearers. There is no fish big enough to outlive a mantis that would be suitable for a 10g. In a 10g, the stakes go up, as it would be harder for the fish to get away.

ok thanks for the information i may just skip the fish all together i have 3 other tanks setup 2 freshwater and one nano reef sorta lol

lol idk if he busts that thing open its over but in my 20 i have a trochus snail the size of my largest hermit that fends off the hermit and knocks the hermit off the rock its funny if a trochus is hard to pry off the glass i could only imagine a turbo snail
