10 Gallon Nuevo Fusion Build!

Hello, I have recently set up a 10 gallon Nuevo fusion aquarium and felt like documenting it and showing my progress as well as ask questions. I want to keep a RBTA and a clownfish ( I know anemones get big, and when it has out grown its current home, a friend of mine is going to trade it in with me for a smaller one if it doesn’t split .

Equipment :

I upgraded my return pump to the sicce 0.5 since I will not be running a power head in the main display for safety reasons. I got the ViaAqua Quartz 50 watt heater. I have no media reactor, but I am using the chemipure blue packets. I am using 2 ( 1 pack per gallon ) and I think I am going to replace 1 of the packets every month. I have the bio cube protein skimmer, a auto top off I got a year ago and I think it’s a tunze or something like that. And for lighting I am using the Hipargero Aquarium LED Light on amazon for 60 bucks!

I am using two pieces of brs live rock from my current tank and 10 pounds of dry clean aragonite sand.

I also have a custom caddy media basket with a sponge pad, then the chemi pure blue, and then some pond matrix from my other aquarium.

Other than that, I have a small magnet, a turkey blaster, a digital thermometer, and a bunch of supplements.


I started by placing the rock, put the sand in, and used 10 gallons of water from my tank. After a day, I put in 3 turbo snails, 2 nassarius snails, 3 blue leg hermits, and another snail that I don’t know the name of.

I will be posting updates if anything big happens or I have a question, thank you for reading my long message and here are some current pictures of my tank happy reefing!

Look's like you're off to a good start! Quick question though, are you going to be using the screen top for the tank or did you just take it off for pictures? (I do that too, no shame )

I feel as though the screen top blocks off some of the light, I’m keeping the light off for a week for everything to get adjusted but I might put it on to stop evaporation? Also for the clownfish’s safety. I see a lot of people without lids, are the main purposes for them are to keep fish in the tank and to stop evaporation it is there anything else?

The screen doesn't stop evaporation at all, it's exclusively to keep the fish from becoming dried out fish chips on the floor, with clownfish I would highly suggest keeping it on at all times, even during maintenance.
