Check this out. It estimates that there are only 100 fully grown Cod in the North Sea! And while I can understand that everyone will be asking how they can tell or saying things like I doubt that is really true, I do believe that we are very close to the critical point in many of our fisheries. The human population cannot sustain such heavy fishing numbers forever. Something is definitely going to happen.

its because we have killed off all the sharkys too....

That article says 9 years for them to recover. I think at this point the whole world needs to give the oceans about 10 years but I'm not too confident it will happen. More likely catches will go down, prices will go up but it won't stop. I wonder if it would even be possible to really protect the ocean if a fishing ban were to be implemented.
