100 micron versus 200 micron Filter Socks

I have heard both ways down to or up to I think down to is the correct one for filtering so 100 micron would be the best?
 
100 micron are a smaller perforation size and catch more but clog faster and need to be cleaned more often.

You can still use them, I do for when I want that "Polished" water look or the day before I have visitors coming over to look at my system.

Let me clear the air right away...I have not had the pleasure of serving. But I have a great deal of respect for you guys!!!
