I was trying to figure out why one of my montipora digitata's suddenly had a mass bailout. I noticed 4 or 5 little vermitid snail nests shooting out mucus, attached to the underside of the coral. I changed the spectrum of my light and to my horror discovered a good 100+ of the little pests scattered throughout my tank. Due to the way the rocks are glued together and the locations of the snails, manual removal is not likely to be successful... any thoughts?

Bumblebee snails. We put about 10 into a 250g with a pretty bad situation and within a month or two I've yet to find any.

Yes that seems to be the most discussed option, I wanted to make sure that was still the conventional wisdom. I'll end up paying 30+ in shipping for $20 of snails, but it's worth it if it kills these little nuisances!

I had an infestation of vermitids in a tank. I went the bumblebee snail route. They cleared them out pretty good. I still see the occasional web, but for the most part, it appears that the bumblebee snails took car of them. That being said, the walls of my fuge barrel are covered in vermitid tubes as no bumblebee's are able to reach there. I should probably move some over, but I have a mexican turbo in there that has grown to the size of my fist, and I would hate to disturb him.
