IM 100gal ext (most recent model as of 2021) has crack in the bottom right hand corner. It has never been setup. I can NOT guarantee it holds water and am really looking to sale it to a tank builder in need for some high quality low iron glass or someone who has the knowledge and skills to repair it.

Houston, TX local pickup only. Asking $700 OBO for reference it’s $1,450 tank only on BRS brand new.

Did IM hook you up with a new one? I got a tank from them a few weeks ago and that driver was in a hurry.
No they didn’t. I inspected it upon delivery but obviously not good enough. It’s very difficult to see something like that under all the packaging and the driver standing there already getting frustrated that you’re inspecting it at all.

By the time I got around to starting my build and noticed the damage I missed the 24hr window of calling in the damage by months. Best they could do was 25% off and free shipping on a replacement.

I’ve learned a lot. I would do things differently next time and am just trying to move on to finally finish this build.

Wonder if the glass repair places like safe light could put resin in it? Might help sale if they can.

Disaster waiting to happen even if it holds h2o
Agreed. I think the ideal buyer here is a tank builder who would knows how to take it apart and reuse the glass for a new tank. or maybe does know how to repair it safely but that’s up to the buyers discretion. I’m not hiding there’s a significant crack so everyone can come into this with their eyes wide open. The whole thing stinks but it is what it is.

Man sorry about your luck. What company delivered? My 100EXT is in transit now.
Honestly I don’t remember off the top of my head. Just make sure that you actually unwrap everything and do a through inspection in the first 24hrs.

I know my case isn’t the norm so I don’t want anyone to think badly of IM. it’s a beautiful tank. Excellent craftsmanship. Excited for you!
