108g BB peninsula build

Amazing tank and just what I was looking for a large successful sps reef with only a skimmer. What is that skimmer rated gallons? I'm curious to attempt and replicate your success. I am apprehensive to over sized skimmers since its said they don't maintain a good foam head and become inconsistent and that may just be skimmer to skimmer or grossly over sized with little nutrient import.

Is there anything you would do different if you did this again?

Th skimmer is rated for 700 gallon. It has its own feed pump pumping 950gph to the skimmer.
I would run a calcium reactor from the begining. My dosing pump is struggling to keep up and not consistent so my colors arent that great. The rest of the method still the same, want it to be really simple so i can enjoy my tank more and mot be slave to the system

absolutely stunning tank...
and your progression is all the more inspirational.

questions.

1 - what kind of LED strips did you mount to your T5?
noticed you later added the kessils - were the LED strips not enough?

2 - do you not get afraid that the nems may leave their spot and start stinging your SPS corals? looks like a bunch of nems in that middle section - but if they decide to move around and get stuck on a rock that has SPS corals - it will end up stinging all of them no?

Sorry about the questions - appreciate the help.

again - beautiful tank!

Nice setup. Word of advice on your skimmer placement. It's going to leak sooner of later and being by that electrical outlet is a fire hazard big time.

Sorry for the late reply.
1. The led strip is reefbrite lumi lite on each side. I got plenty of light from my t5 alone. I added the kessil just to have some shimmers and experiments with some acro in the tank, forcing color morph.
2. There are 7 anemone in the center. Used to be 11 until i gave away some and two went into my powerhead. They move once in a while(maybe 2-3 times a year), i just pick them out and placed it back to the center. Their journey from the center rock to my main rock is quite a long time for them so i usually got to them first before they get to the main rock. Twice they got to the main rock but they dont sting at all.

Thank you for the concerns. The skimmer has an overflow safety switch and it also has an overflow drain. My outlet is an gfci.

Merry Christmas back from the reefs!!!
Looks great
