I've never documented any of my tanks so I figured I'd post this. Even though it is really simple maybe it could help someone. I started with a 5g to qt inverts about 4 months ago when I had to go fallow. I soon got bored and decided to try out some coral. The 5g worked fine for a while but now I have a few frags coming and need more space. Since I already have 4 tanks including this one, I figured an upgrade to a 10g was the most my fiancé would tolerate. Petco is running $1 per gallon and the stand was $30 which was cheaper than how I would build it. The rest of the equipment I used was off the 5g. Here's a list.
Marineland 100gph hob filter $14
Koralia evo nano 240gph (Given to me)
Tetra 50w heater 10$
Blue/white led light $20
Digital thermometer $4
Egg crate $12

Sweet. I originally stocked my tank with rocks, inverts and corals while fallow and QTd all my fish. Its been about a year and I have had a few losses along the way. I only have 2 more batches of fish to do and then will convert one of my 20 gal QTs to an invert holding tank so I can restock some new sand, a cleanup crew and about a half dozen more corals.

I have a 20g also as my fish qt. Once I'm fully stocked that will probably be my new coral tank too. That was smart to stock up before the fallow. When I went fallow I didn't even know I'd get into corals but after the first frag the full blown addiction began

...the full blown addiction began
It sneaks up on you. I giggle every time I read a post where someone is proposing a fish stock list and they say "I'm not really going to get into corals, just one or two". LOL, they have no idea whats about to hit them!

That's so true! Lol

There is so much truth to this, quite frankly it is scary how quick I became addicted.

My favorite "easy" LPS. If you get them in teal as well it will be a great compliment.

I can't tell if that is a single head lobophyllia or a scolymia. If it is a lobo, nice score, I love it! If that is a scoly, it will be difficult. Where did you get it?

I have a purple and teal trumpet in my DT. It doesn't look it's best because I just turned the light on to take the pic. Ps. I'm working on gha.

And yes that's a lobo. I got all of them from aquaSD's Thursday night Ebay auctions. They can get you in trouble lol. Do you know what kind of acro that is in the last pic?

No idea, I'm not much of an SPS guy, but its not from a lack of trying :D. That lobo is exactly what i was looking for to go in my tank. I settled for a red and green instead. Don't get me wrong, I think people would kill for the lobo I scored :D, but I had a specific look in mind for my tank. Now it has partially encrusted rock so there is no removing it at this point.

I don't know much about SPS but I guess I'll have to give it a try. Here's the pic of the lobo from the auction, I couldn't pass it up.

Actually, everything looked amazing in their pics. I'll have to see how they look once they go in my DT under better light.

Many oversaturate the photos to exaggerate the colors. Don't beat yourself up if you can't get there exactly.

Oh no I won't. I'm still happy with them. They look good under the cheap blue led in the qt so I have an idea of their potential. I will remember this though when I see crazy color pieces going for big bucks.
