Hey community,

i have a question. I have bigger sps tanks which im dosing without problems for years. So i only do 1 Waterchange a month, because of business trips.

Now i have a 10G Waterbox tank, it is an anemone only tank. So there is one BTA in it, which is thriving perfect, also i have 1 Clownfish in it.

Filtration is: Tunze 9001 skimmer and filter floss.

So now my question, everything i read says do weekly waterchange and everthing is fine. But how i sayed, because of business i can only do 1 a month.

Should i only do 1 a month and dose nothing? From what i ve read there is no Alk consumption from soft corals. I have all for reef for sm aller tanks, but without consumption is it useless

So, do you think 1 WC a month is enough when Nitrat and Phosphat are in check?

If everything is stable, 1 WC a month should be fine as long as you dose appropriately for the corals you have. You might also look into refining your WC procedure so it takes less time, that’s what I did and now it’s less daunting to do weekly :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

When nutrients are in check (stable) and only fish and nem, once a month WC seems fine to me.
I do that on this 20g with two nems.
