i am looking for some advice on bulbs to match my leds.

I have a pair of 8”x8” led fixtures (5 10k and 5 antic in each) and I also have a tribulb T8 fixture to add to it but I am wondering what bulbs to put in it.

I know it’s an older fixture but I am working with what I have and replacing the fixture is not at option at this point.

I am wondering which bulbs to use that will go well with the leds I have.

Any info anyone has would be helpful.

Thanks

All depends on the types of coral you wanna keep, there are coral categories that req different lighting

If fish only tank, then its really a personal choice on how much blue you want versus white. Most FO tanks are like 70% blue - 30% white

Mainly softies if any. If I want to do sps or lps I can always put them under the leds

I would probably use a mix of 10K and true Atinic bulbs with 1 50/50 to make it balanced.

If you have an option for a pinkish bulb like the old VHO, or Purple plus I would do that and the Atinic and 50/50. The 10K LED is a pretty narrow spectrum, and the Atinic LED is more like an Atinic blue usually and also narrow,.. so these other bulbs help to fill in the spaces and help color rendition.

The only bulbs I have access to are the 10k, 50/50 and the Actinic. I might be able to get my lfs to order something in but they are hard to find in t8.

If you know of any on line please let me know

There are a couple bulbs in it that are a purple colour but they are older and I am sure are in need of replacing

You can really do a combination of any of those bulbs, I liked to add additional actinic when I was doing a t5/led hybrid. The actinic will make the fluorescence is the corals pop more. If you like your tank more white you can add the 10k, the 50/50 will give you a more balanced blue/white; I would do 2 actinics and 1 50/50. You can use your leds to fine tune by adjusting the spectrum, to give the ultimate in your preferences. I only added 2 bulbs to my leds, after mussing around a bit I didn't like adding any additional whites, I added an actinic and a blue plus, which is a very dominant blue with just a dash of white.

The leds I have I can’t adjust they are just blue and white which is why I am wanting add the t8 as it may give me a better balance
