Does anyone have success using the RS Pro Salt and zoanthids. My tank is 100% zoas and current dkH is approx 8.0. Natural seawater has a dkH of approx 7.0. A little concerned increasing the alkalinity by almost 50%. If anyone can share their experiences, failures, and pictures, it would greatly be appreciated.

Big fan of RS Pro Salt. Have mixed reef that is 6 months old with everything thriving. Change 10 gallons every week on my 90 gallon using this salt. Here are the results:

your salinity is definitely very low because your dkh is 8. With RS Coral pro salt you should be at 12 dkh for 35 ppt.

Currently I am not using the RS Pro salt. It seems to me the majority of reefers are running dkH levels substantially lower than the RS salt. I am wondering what the benefits would be to increase my alkalinity approx 50%.

In a zoanthids tank it may not make any difference to the growth or any other aspect. So I woudnt bother. Some folks like to keep the Alk high in SPS tanks to chase faster growth.
