110ºF water ok to use?

Quick question.
I accidentally overheated my new salt water mix up to a sizzling 110ºF, the temp is back down to where I like it, but is it still ok to use? it would hurt having to dump it since its 44g.

I guess once you've tested the salinity again and its good you should be fine. Don't see why it would harm it

Depending on the salt, some calcium carbonate might have precipitated at the higher temp.
I'd check the container for precipitate, then check SG and also alkalinity.
If all is as expected, you're probably good to go.

Back when I was culturing microalgae in order to culture copepods in order to culture fish and inverts, I routinely heated 35 PPT saltwater up to 185F to sterilize it, daily, over a period of years, and never saw any precipitation. You should be fine.

Wow, Interesting!
My water has a slight cloudiness to it and the heater had a white crust on it, but that might of been there already and with the high heat it dissolved? will test my water when I get a chance to see if everything's ok.

When it settles, measure the alk. If it is ok, the mix is fine. [emoji3]
