110 VOLT SUBMERSIBLE VS. 240 VOLT SUBMERSIBLE Pumps

So, a buddy offered to sell me a a name brand water pump. I knew the name and did basic research and found it an ideal candidate for my bow front project.

We were "this-close" to my PayPal'ing him when he casually mentioned that the pump was a 240 volt model with a "non" USA plug. ****! LOL
We discussed replacing the plug and seeing if i would work but I want to get a few more opinions about this first.

Any electrician's mates out there?

I know they aren't compatible being 50 Hz and all but COULD it be made to BE compatible on 120 volt, 60Hz?

If you want to go thru and wire a 240v oultlet to the tank area you can do that.

My pool pump is 240v!
Just size wire accordingly. However, for the cost to wire it, your better to just get a regular 110v pump!

Plus the cost alone for a 240 double pole 20A GFCI is gonna be $100
