Absolutely amazing! So sorry you lost a bunch of fish. If you lost the French angel I hope you are able to replace it. The owner of the fish store I worked at growing up had a pair of french angels that he had kept for 15+ years, they lived in the 340 in the front window of his shop. Absolutely one of my all time favorite fish. Thanks for sharing your tank with us! You’ve got the carpenter bug in me wondering what I could build in plywood now lol.

Ive been feeding lightly, actually need to work on dropping my phosphate some while the fish are out, was fairly high just from using old rock and sand.

With great sadness I must report I lost my big tank yesterday, a fire broke out plunder the tank most likely related to some old batteries. Closest electrical was more than 6 foot away so that was ruled out, I lost 95% of my fish in all systems and am basically left with s couple that were in a quarantine, a few cichlids. And some rainbow fish. Here's the pics of the damage. Amazingly despite being on fire it still mostly holds water with 1 or 2 small leaks, because of the d as mage I will tear it down, salvage the glass and rebuild. Evidently my method is sound. Other than some plumbing that need replaced, and a bit of romex their was no structural damage to the house, aka nothing insurable so it is all on me to repair. Fish loss was 100 % in this tank and my 480 gallon tank, probably somewhere around 80 saltwater fish lost in total, corals look like they might make it mostly though I sent most of them over to friends houses to be watched until I can get everything cleaned up.

Lol the stand is good to go, put a new coat of paint on it and nor problem for the rebuild

Hopefully the smoke damage isn’t too extensive in your house.
My first reaction was for the tank, but I know that a fire can cause many more issues. Was it self extinguished, or did someone catch it in progress to put out?

Self extinguished, fire reached some pex, put a hole in it and than the water did most of the work, was just smoldering when the firefighters arrived, smoke damage is mainly confined to the basement. Just need to scrub the rest of the house down over the next few days while we dry the basement out so I can get to work on demo
