12 Gal JBJ Rebuild -Equip Recommendations Please

I currently have a 200 gal mixed reef. My son wants my old nano from 10 yrs ago to set as his own. What progress has there been in nano equipment and give me recommendations on a pump, filtering, lighting heaters etc. Water, sand and some rubble will be established ...transferred from my tank. Not looking to do hang on stuff Prefer in chamber if possible. Going hoodless.
