So I decided to jump in with both feet I'm building a sump from scratch minamal live rock in display. My question to you fine people is i want to use marine pure bio media but i cant find any info on how much i need any one know?

I've used Matrix -similar type of product- in my QT and a very small amount has worked wonders for my 7 fish in QT. I would say you wouldn't need a whole lot. I also say it's not going to hurt to have more. Just watch out for detritus build up between them all as I imagine they will be kept in a chamber in your new sump.

Exactly.and I'll be using a filter sock as well

I figure as long as you stir up the area its in and syphon out any build up of detritus then you'll be fine.

I'm going to use some filter media from my 56 reef and maybe pick up some live rock rubble from my lfs that is for sure cured. I assume the bio media in question will cut down drastically one needed space that live rock would need
