Ok, I have been starting too lose SPS, fading at least, my nitrates are 0 and phosphates 0, read that they need nitrates at least just started dosing tonight will see what happens. Oh acan aren't look great either but all other params are perfect

I moved across town to a new house closer to my son's school. It's 45 minutes one way. Good news is my wife and I don't have to drive 90 minutes round trip twice a day to take our son to school. Bad news is I had to move my tank.

I hired a local expert to help me with the move. It's been two weeks and knock on wood, I haven't lost any coral or livestock.

Before the day of the move, I made up 30 gallons of fresh saltwater and made sure the parameters matched the aquarium water. Also made 30 gallons of top off water just in case I needed to make saltwater in a hurry.

Two weeks before the move, I set a 40 gallon breeder tank at the new house. This tank had a heater and powerhead. I used the water from my weekly water changes to fill this tank up. So the water in this tank was exactly the same temperature as my display and had flow from the powerhead. Since I used water change water to fill it, it had the same parameters and bacteria count as my display. All I had to do was keep up with ATO water to keep the salinity the same.

In the weeks before the move I slowly removed any media (carbon, denitrite, Gfo) I was running in the sump. I felt like moving the media was a risk and one extra thing to worry about.

The day before the move, I moved as much coral into the 40 breeder tank as possible. This took 8 hours, 4 coolers and lots of bags.

On moving day, it took us 10 hours to move the tank and all the rest of the livestock and coral. Luckily everything went smoothly. The local expert I hired was outstanding! He had all the proper equipment, knowledge and attention to detail that it took to make the move successful.

Tank update.

Got a Oregon Tort Acro and Walt Disney acro a couple weeks ago. Super excited about them.

A friend of mine broke down a tank and give me some acans, two scolys and a Picasso clown pair.

The clownfish are spending all their time in the top corner of the tank so I ordered some magnet rocks from Aqua Mags to put on the back glass. Make them a cave to hang out in.
