I'm going with 2 Orphek Atlantik v3+ compact fixtures. They are LED, widely used in Europe. A lot of public aquariums use their fixtures. There are a few reefers here who highly recommend them. I thought about Kessils and Radions for a long time. Then decided on the Orpheks based on recommendations and reviews.I forgot to ask you what lighting rig you are setting up.
How expensive are they ? I was running a Coralife 24 Inch Aqualight Pro, 1x250W HQI Lamp + 2x65W CF Lamps Sq. Pin + 2x1W LED but it eats way too much power and puts out too much heat. So now I have 2 crappy LED's looking to change them out.I'm going with 2 Orphek Atlantik v3+ compact fixtures. They are LED, widely used in Europe. A lot of public aquariums use their fixtures. There are some good lower end alternatives out there. SB reeflights I've heard a lot of good things about, check out some of the site sponsors. A lot of people run Hydra 52s with awesome results. If your doing mostly lps and soft corals you don't really need a high powered, high end LED system.[emoji20][emoji107]
I want to get in to others as well. I like the https://sbreeflights.com/sbox-reef-lights/10-sbox-extreme-32-wifi.html but I need to sell my light first. And too bad it's not a 36" light. There are some good lower end alternatives out there. SB reeflights I've heard a lot of good things about, check out some of the site sponsors. That light should work on your 36" tank with no problem! I think that would be a good choice for your set up. Look for reviews and create a post in the equipment and lighting forums looking for info. He's right. Super pricey but I have the non compact over my 110 and it's phenomenal! How expensive are they ? I was running a Coralife 24 Inch Aqualight Pro, 1x250W HQI Lamp + 2x65W CF Lamps Sq. Yea not all of us are ballers like Frag!Ya I am on a tight budget. Need some one to buy my light first. :/
OMG that is nuts! I don't have the space, money, or time for that!!! That would be super cool though. It reminds me of what's his name with the 20,000 gal reef in his home.Jesse! You should do something like this, http://www.dailyview.co/happens-convert-basement-aquarium/?utm_campaign=Aquarium&utm_medium=Facebook&utm_source=https://www.facebook.com/groups/swafs
I don't even know what that means! Thanks though. You can do it. As @Ahgee stated that you are a big baller! So you can do it!
